One of our goals here at DromeDairy is to be completely transparent about what goes into our products. Here you find a complete list of all the high quality ingredients we use and an explanation of what all those science-y terms actually mean and why they are so good for you!

 

Soap Bar

Olive Oil: used as a base ingredient due to its deeply moisturising and nourishing properties. It can help to soften the skin texture, hold moisture and nourish without interfering with natural skin functions.

Vegetable Oil: The fatty acids in vegetable oil help clean dirt and grime whilst being gentle on the skin and preventing dryness. They contribute to a rich lather and add firmness to the bar of soap, making it last longer.

Coconut Oil: helps create a wonderful cleansing, hard bar of soap that produces a fluffy lather with stable bubbles. It is light, non-greasy and resistant to spoiling.

Castor and Apricot Kernel Oils: These gentle oils create a creamy, stable lather. They moisturise and highly condition your skin by attracting and retaining the moisture – they can do this because of the high content of vitamins A, C and E.

Camel Milk: The all-important star of the show containing all the goodness (vitamins, minerals, alpha-hydroxy acids, anti-aging proteins, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and so much more)! You can read all about this superfood for your skin here.

Cocoa Butter: Is extremely moisturising due to the high content of fatty acids. It also adds firmness and extends the shelf life of the bar of soap. It

Fragrance: We offer four different scents for our soap bars; lemon and lime (essential oil), bamboo and green, black ebony and cherry blossom. All beautiful and unique scents we think you’ll love!

 

Camel Milk Lip Balm

White beeswax: a natural wax produced by honey bees. It has numerous benefits including; retaining moisture, preventing dry chapped lips, protecting lips from UV rays, great for protecting sensitive skin and its natural sweet taste and smell!

Camel Crème: The all-important star of the show – Camel milk concentrated into a cream containing all the goodness (vitamins, minerals, alpha-hydroxy acids, anti-aging proteins, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and so much more)! You can read all about this superfood for your skin here

Shea butter: A great moisturiser which sinks deep into your skin. A bonus fact – shea butter is solid at room temperature which helps keep the lip balm solid.

Almond oil: it is rich in vitamin A, E and K which provides vital nutrients to your lips helping them to stay well nourished, soft, supple and hydrated.

Coconut oil (Certified): the primary benefit is its luscious moisturising abilities preventing cracked and chapped lips.

Tocopherol acetate: it is a compound of vitamin E, an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory keeping your lips healthy and protecting them against UV exposure from the sun.

Theobroma oil: another name for the rich natural moisturiser we know and love – cocoa butter!

Castor oil: used to help retain skin moisture by preventing water loss from the outer layers of your lips.

Phenoxyethanol: a biodegradable preservative which prevents the growth of bacteria in products which are exposed to bacteria on your skin and the outer environment, and are opened frequently.

 

Camel Milk Hand and Body Lotion

Aqua – The wonderful wet stuff that falls from the sky.

Oryza Sativa (Rice Bran oil): is extracted from the coating of a grain of rice. It has the capability to moisturise deep into your skin due to its high percentages of fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins.

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Seed Oil): Another moisturising plant oil which helps protect your skin making it super soft and smooth.

Ceteryl Alcohol: is a waxy substance which helps create a smoother, thicker lotion (great for an emulsifier but not for cocktails).

Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter): is a multi-talented ingredient. Not only does is help regenerate and deeply moisturise the skin, it is rich in antioxidants and protects from external factors. 

Glycerin: a natural ingredient which helps your skin cling on to the moisture and water, therefore preventing dry and irritated skin.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (Aloe Vera): the popular plant which provides, retains and restores moisture, making it particularly effective on dry skin. Known for soothing irritation and itching, adding a calming effect to your skin.

Polysorbate 60: simply a thickening agent that helps other ingredients dissolve in solvents which they would not normally dissolve.

Persea Gratissima (Avocado oil): the oil from this fruit once again helps preserve moisture and prevent water loss resulting in smooth and soft skin.

Rosa Moschata (Rosehip seed oil): a fatty acid, loaded with vitamins E and A, which is easily absorbed by your skin, making it feel soft and velvety. Roseship oil is also a natural ingredient which is known for combatting the signs of aging by stimulating collagen and elastin production!

Black Ebony Fragrance: the scent of the lotion - a woody, warm and earthy fragrance.

Tocopherol: more commonly known to me and you as vitamin E.

Stearic Acid: another natural ingredient which helps keep products from separating whilst simultaneously softening and moistening the skin. Additionally, it prevents water evaporating from the skin.

Phenoxyethanol: a biodegradable preservative which prevents the growth of bacteria in products which are usually applied by hand and are opened frequently.

Sorbic Acid: very similar to the ingredient above! It is used in order to extend the shelf life of our products by preventing microbial contamination and growth, as well as preventing degradation from factors such as sunlight, heat and the open air.

Caprylyl Glycol: a hydrating ingredient that works by attracting water and holding it in the skin. An extra bonus is that it has preservative like properties helping once again to extend its shelf life.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine: this is a liquid which is sourced from coconut oil. Its main use is to help to create a thick lather, perfect ingredient for a hand and body wash!

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera juice): the popular plant which provides, retains and restores moisture, making it particularly effective on dry skin. Known for soothing irritation and itching, adding a calming effect to your skin.

Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate: has the important job of stripping away dirt and oils from the skin whilst still being a very mild and gentle cleanser, perfect for keeping your skin clean and soft.

Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate: a gentle foaming agent which cleanses impurities without stripping your skins natural pH, so basically it cleans your skin as well as leaving it soft and smooth afterwards.

Glycerin: a natural ingredient which helps your skin cling on to the moisture and water, therefore preventing dry and irritated skin.

Persea Gratissima (Avocado oil): the oil from this fruit helps preserve moisture and prevent water loss resulting in smooth and soft skin.

Calendula Officinalis Extract (Calendula oil): a natural oil which comes from marigold flowers! It has anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties which make it excellent for soothing skin.

Camel Milk Shampoo

Decyl Glucoside: a natural and gentle surfactant that generates exceptional levels of stable foam, perfect for that shampoo lather. Double points as it doesn’t dry out your hair or skin due to it being a mild surfactant.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine: this is a liquid which is sourced from coconut oil. Its main use is to help to create a thick lather, perfect ingredient for a shampoo!

Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate: has the important job of stripping away dirt and oils from the skin whilst still being a very mild and gentle cleanser, perfect for keeping your hair clean and soft.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract: (Aloe Vera): the popular plant which provides, retains and restores moisture, making it particularly effective on dry hair or scalp. Known for soothing irritation and itching, adding a calming effect to your scalp.

Glycerin: a natural ingredient which helps your skin cling on to the moisture and water, therefore preventing a dry and irritated scalp and dry hair.

Avena sativa oil (oat kernels): as you guessed it is oil extracted from oats. It has amazing moisturising and healing properties with a non greasy finish! It also helps absorb and retain moisture – another reason why we love it!

Bamboo & Green Tea Fragrance: the fragrance of our shampoo – fresh, sweet, light and green.

Glycol Distearate: lends a lovely creamy, pearlescent appearance to surfactant products without thickening them or negatively impacting the rich plentiful lather.

Xanthan Gum: An ingredient which helps thickens the shampoo and get it to the perfect viscocity – not too thin and watery but not too thick and gel like, we want it justttt right!

Sorbic Acid: It is used in order to extend the shelf life of our products by preventing microbial contamination and growth, as well as preventing degradation from factors such as sunlight, heat and the open air.

Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar gum): A natural, plant-derived thickening agent which helps bind all the different ingredients together.

Panthenol: more commonly known to me and you as vitamin B-5!

Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride: This is nowhere near as scary as it is to pronounce or spell – honest! Guar is a domesticated legume crop. It is cationic ‘positively charged’ and works by neutralising the ‘negative charges’ on hair strands that cause static and tangling. It does this without weighing the hair down resulting in silky, non-static hair which retains its volume.

Cetearyl Alcohol: is a waxy substance which helps create a smoother, thicker lotion (great for an emulsifier but not for cocktails).

Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate: natural moisturiser made from olive oil. It softens and hydrates hair by providing an even protective film helping to keep hydrating substances from escaping. However, it also reduces greasiness and doesn’t leave an oily after touch.

Avena Sativa oil (oat kernels): as you guessed it is oil extracted from oats. It has amazing moisturising and healing properties with a non greasy finish! It also helps absorb and retain moisture – another reason why we love it!

Behentrimonium Methosulfate: basically it is an antistatic softening ingredient (stops your hair from flying around and becoming static!). It also allows our conditioner to be easily spreadable and gives your hair that soft final touch.

Hydrogenated Olive Oil: By hydrogenating the olive oil it changes from its natural liquid state into a solid. It is a rich source of antioxidants and is used as an emollient which helps nourish skin and retain moisture.

Panthenol: Just another name for vitamin B-5! A valuable vitamin that helps repair and rebuild hair shafts, which are often damaged by blow-dryers or sun exposure.

Candelilla Wax: this wax works as a shield and prevents the skin from losing moisture. It hydrates the skin to make it look and feel fresh and clean.

Retinol: a derivative of vitamin A that helps the skin to regenerate. It can reduce wrinkles and breakouts.

Camel Milk Powder

100% freeze-dried camel milk powder from our own dairy farm in the Perth Hills. Our camel milk is gently pasteurised and freeze-dried to maintain all the goodness in the milk. Offering all the benefits and a great flavour whilst having the convenience of a long shelf-life and being easy to store and transport.
